Reawakening: Ihsan & Islah 2015
Reawakening: Ihsan & Islah 2015 is a night cycling event organized by NUS Muslim Society.
Reawakening, or to become aware of a situation again, is one takeaway we hope participants will bring home from the event. The theme for this event is Ihsan & Islah. Ihsan refers to the pursuit of perfection, or excellence, while Islah refers to the act of improvement, or to put something in a better position.
The theme for this event would be centered on the history of Islam in Spain between the early 700s and the late 1400s, known as the Golden Age of Islam. The idea would be for participants to draw lessons from a time of Islamic greatness, lessons such as Ihsan and Islah, and apply them in their everyday lives to strive to become better Muslims not just in this world, but in the hereafter. In this respect, Ihsan and Islah becomes an ideal motto to work with, since it can be translated to the pursuit of excellence through constant improvement.
